The first real-world images of the new 2024 Suzuki Swift have appeared online after the model was spotted at a dealership in Japan recently, suggesting its New Zealand arrival isn’t far away.
While we first laid eyes on the new Swift at the Japan Mobility Show where it was revealed late last year, the new photos offer us a better perspective of the model which doesn’t look all too dissimilar to the outgoing one.
Of course, there’s a new set of headlights up front which lead up to a clamshell bonnet, followed by a defined beltline that runs along the sides of the car and into a set of restyled taillights.
The Swift pictured also boasts a two-tone paint job, new wheels, and a refreshed interior with a 9.0-inch central infotainment screen mounted up high on the dashboard. It’ll also come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
As for what’s under the bonnet, the new model features a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine under the bonnet, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic. Front- and all-wheel drive variants will also be offered in Japan.
Some of its safety features include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive high beams, a driver monitoring system, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera, blind spot monitoring, and more.
Suzuki New Zealand has yet to announce pricing and specifications for the new Swift, but it has previously said the new model will arrive by mid-2024.
