Porsche continues to revise its 911 line-up, the latest variant to be improved being the Carrera S. It has more power, enhanced performance and added features. Porsche has also removed the option of the manual transmission. While not something that was offered in NZ, the Carrera S had been available with a manual in major markets but that’s no longer the case.
This 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S replaces the previous-generation Carrera S from the 992 series line-up. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, the latest model delivers 353kW and 530Nm of torque, an increase of 22kW and 20Nm over its predecessor.
Porsche says the increase was due to updated turbochargers and an improved intercooler system. And with the optional Sport Chrono Package, the Carrera S speeds from 0 to 100km/h in a claimed 3.1sec with a top speed of 307km/h.
The 2025 Carrera S also features larger brakes with 408mm front and 380mm rear discs taken from the GTS model, ensuring strong stopping power.

Standard equipment now includes staggered 20/21-inch Carrera S wheels, a sports exhaust system with tailpipes in silver, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+). Optional is PASM sports suspension, which is combined with rear-wheel steering. Porsche says “the damper hydraulics have been optimised compared with the predecessor model, providing even greater drivability with increased precision and refined responsiveness”. Ceramic brakes are also optional.
In the interior, leather now covers more surfaces. For those who are looking to personalize, Porsche offers the Exclusive Manufaktur package that features 48 bespoke leather colour combinations.
The new 911 Carrera S is now available to order as a Coupé or Cabriolet with first arrivals expected early in the 3rd quarter of 2025. Prices for the 911 Carrera S in New Zealand start at $321,900 for the Coupé, while the Cabriolet kicks off at an MRP of $336,900.
