Lexus’ second iteration of its fully electric UX 300e will arrive in New Zealand next year with an increased range over the current model.
A larger battery has been fitted to the SUV which sees an increase in capacity from 54.4kWh to 72.8kWh, enabling the SUV to now travel up to 450km on a single charge.
Charging speed for the updated UX 300e has yet to be confirmed, however, the current model can recharge at 50kW.
Also used in the updated model is the same 150kW/300Nm electric motor which gets the SUV up to 100km/h from a stand still in 7.5 seconds.
Lexus New Zealand General Manager Andrew Davis says the UX 300e extended driving range will make it more appealing to a wider range of customers which will help in Lexus’ decarbonisation goals.
“Lexus is aiming to decarbonise its portfolio as part of an overall commitment to reduce our impact on the environment and communities we operate in,” Davis says.
“The UX 300e is the first model of many new and exciting battery electric vehicles we will see from Lexus over the next few years.”
The updated Lexus UX 300e will arrive in New Zealand in mid-2023, with pricing to be confirmed.
