Following the reveal of the Maserati GranTurismo coupe earlier this month, the first images of its drop top GranCabrio sibling have now appeared online.
The car was captured undergoing initial stages of development on the streets of Modena, Italy in prototype form while still wearing its camouflage wrap.
While somewhat hidden, we’re greeted with what you’d expect from the GranCabrio – a roofless GranTurismo.
Maserati has confirmed that the GranCabrio will also come with the option of a fully electric powertrain, as with the GranTurismo.
Although it isn’t specified, we can safely assume the convertible will get the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine as the coupe.
As for the EV variant, its three electric motors producing a combined 567kW will be sure to give you a new hairstyle if you opt for the cabriolet.
The GranTurismo is currently shown on Maserati New Zealand’s website but there’s no mention of the GranCabrio just yet.
