BMW has unveiled a variety of model-specific M2 Performance Parts which will go on sale as retrofit accessories when the model launches early next year.
Customers now have the choice of kitting their car out with parts made mostly of carbon-fibre as if it were a real-life Need for Speed game. These include a front splitter, air intake trim, side skirts, wing mirror caps, spoiler, roof spoiler and rear diffuser.
Also on offer is a titanium exhaust system which shaves 8kg from the car’s overall weight. It also shares the same pyramid-shaped quad pipe exit as the optional system on the M3 and M4.
The soundtrack of the M2’s 338kW 3.0-litre twin turbocharged inline six-cylinder can be adjusted via controls in the cabin, raising the exhaust note in the Sport and Sport+ modes.
M Performance suspension is also on offer from the factory, allowing drivers to change the vehicle’s height by 10mm courtesy of the adjustable spring cups.
New 20-inch cross-spoke wheels are also available in both gold and matte black colours.
Interior options include carbon fibre and Alcantara trim panels adjoining Alcantara knee pads which may come in handy under hard cornering.
More Alcantara and carbon fibre makes its way inside onto the optional centre console arm rest and M Performance seat backrest covers respectively.
Rounding out the list of M2 Performance Parts is a new M Performance steering wheel Pro is said to offer drivers with more control when cornering as a result of its Alcantara grips. Carbon fibre paddles and door sill plates can also be specified alongside velour floor mats.
