The Hunter 350 is proving quite the success story for Royal Enfield motorcycles in major overseas markets, and it is about to dot down here, kicking off at $7,590 for the Dapper, packing a three-year unlimited km warranty with three years of roadside assistance.
Introduced in two distinct variants and six colours, the Hunter 350 will be available for test rides early in the new year. Royal Enfield has an online pre-registration site where customers can also place orders.
The bike has already launched in Thailand, Indonesia and India. In the latter, there have been over 75,000 bookings taken and the new model has become the leading seller for the brand there.
Royal Enfield describes the Hunter 350 as ‘old-school charm meets new-age vibes’. Compact geometry, fast steering and confident braking make it urban ready, with the single-cylinder rumble Royal Enfield is known for. With revised rake and trail angles, an 800mm seat height and a short wheelbase, Hunter’s manoeuvrability encourages as much confidence in urban as rural running.

The Metro Hunter comes in six two-tone liveries, and features cast alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, and rounded rear lights. The Dapper Edition features three different tank colours and graphics options, while the range-topping Rebel Edition is finished with a choice of three distinctive petrol tank designs.
Both the Dapper and Rebel editions are equipped with 300mm front and 270mm rear disc brakes, dual channel ABS, and a centre stand. An LED tail lamp and digital-analogue instrument cluster with gear indicator and fuel gauge are standard. All Hunter editions get a USB charging port.
Powering the Hunter is a long stroke 349cc air/oil-cooled single borrowed from the Meteor. It produces 20.2 bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4000rpm. With a primary balancer shaft to cut down vibrations, it is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Top speed is a claimed 114km/h. Weighing in at 181kg ready to ride, its quoted fuel efficiency is 2.76L/100km.
Aimed at a younger audience, a range of lifestyle apparel and accessories is available for the Hunter 350.
The range-topping Hunter 350 Rebel goes for $7,690.
