The ever so popular Suzuki Jimny could get an electric drivetrain by 2030 thanks to new information from the Japanese carmaker.
According to Drive, Suzuki confirmed its electrified model lineup for Europe and other markets in a presentation to investors, showing multiple vehicle silhouettes.
Of the five shown, one resembles that of the Jimny with its headlights and five-slot grille standing out.
We don’t know if it will be offered as a fully electric vehicle or as a hybrid at this stage, nor when it will go on sale.
It could also arrive sooner than we think though with 2024 being the rumoured date in other reports.
As for the rest of the electrified Suzukis shown, it looks like we’ll see a production version of the EVX concept, a small van, the Fronx SUV, and an unknown model.
We are yet to know if any of the aforementioned models will make it to our shores but we suspect an electric Jimny would go down a treat if offered.
Regardless, we’ll get to see each of the five models by 2030.
