Ford New Zealand has confirmed it will offer the E-Transit Courier to Kiwi customers in the coming years as part of its electrified push.
Powering the E-Transit Courier is a 100kW electric motor complete with one-pedal driving capability. Full performance and range figures will be confirmed closer to launch.
DC fast charging up to 100kW features on the model, which can add 87km of range in 10 minutes and can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 35 minutes.
Ford New Zealand has also collaborated with Singer Electric for hardware installation and management of charging solutions for home or business. In addition, customers who purchase an electric vehicle from Ford will be provided with a Chargnet key fob that can be registered online to give access to Chargenet’s national charging infrastructure.
One of the highlights of the new van is that it has been completely redesigned around a more “flexible” cargo area. It can now cater for an increased load volume of more than 25 per cent over the outgoing model with enough space for two Euro pallets.
The increase in payload capacity is thanks to the 1220mm of space between the model’s rear wheel arches with total cargo volume now coming to 2.9 metres cubed all up. A new load-through bulkhead feature allows for longer loads of more than 2600mm to be transported too.
Interior appointments include a new “squircle” steering wheel which is designed to improve driver leg room and visibility. There’s also a column-mounted gear shifter, push-start ignition, and an electronic handbrake.
The digital instrument cluster consists of a 12-inch display while infotainment is handled by a 12-inch centre touchscreen which features Ford’s Sync 4 system as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
There’s also a standard suite of safety assistance systems including adaptive cruise control with lane centering, a blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, intersection assist, and reverse brake assist.
All E-Transit Couriers are also fitted with a modem as standard which allows for over-the-air software updates without having to take the vehicle to a dealership.

The all-new Ford E-Transit Courier will be first available in New Zealand in 2025 and includes both van and Tourneo variants.
