A new entry-level electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz is upon us, at least in concept form, with the brand teasing the car ahead of its unveiling at the upcoming International Auto Show in Germany (2023 IAA Mobility). It also confirmed that two off-road-oriented models will be shown off at the event too.
The German carmaker was tight-lipped about its new design study which will supposedly inform a future production model, according to Automotive News Europe, but it did release an image of the car’s sweeping silhouette.
One of its most notable features is the addition of what looks to be an LED light strip running from front to rear along the beltline, highlighting the car’s arches. We can also see a shut line towards the rear of the vehicle, suggesting that it will be a sedan rather than a coupe.
The German carmaker also stated its plans to complete the E-Class line-up at the show by revealing a new All-Terrain variant. It says the rugged model will be electrified (mild-hybrid) and offered as a plug-in hybrid.
For those who want a bit more gusto off the beaten path, we’ll also be given our first glimpse of a new fully electric “off-road icon” which may well be a G-Class EV.
Among the other cars on display will be the new EQA, EQB and EQV, as well as the streamlined Vision EQXX and newly-revealed Vision One-Eleven concept.
The 2023 IAA Mobility auto show in Germany will get underway from September 5 to 10, where all will be revealed.
