Isuzu Utes New Zealand has issued a recall for the D-Max ute due to a fire risk in the vehicle’s engine bay.
The brand states that models made between 2021 and 2023 may have been fitted with a “misaligned” diesel supply hose that could rub on an engine bracket and lead to it splitting.
The same recall was issued by the brand’s Australian arm, which states that if the issue occurs, “fuel may leak in the presence of an external ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire.”
To remedy the issue, Isuzu says that it needs to replace the hose and its clips, as well as ensure it has been aligned correctly.
Affected D-Max owners are being urged to contact their local Isuzu Utes Dealer or Isuzu Utes Service Agent, or give them a call on 0800 478 986, to book their vehicle in to be remedied.
Owners can also email Isuzu at “[email protected]” or update their contact details on its website here.
