To mark the Year of the Dragon, Vespa has released a limited-edition offering, this one dubbed the Vespa 946 Dragon. Of the 1888 to be made, just a handful will be coming here. To the Chinese, the Year of the Dragon is regarded as an omen of prosperity. Vespa is celebrating the occasion with a golden Dragon Collector’s edition.
Available in a limited run of 1888 items, three are earmarked for our market. They will be emblazoned with an emerald green dragon motif that snakes its way from the front to the back of the scooter.
To commemorate the occasion and pay homage to the Lunar New Year, Vespa is also releasing an inaugural matching fashion item. Made of ribbed wool, with nappa leather sleeves, the Varsity jacket also features the dragon motif in emerald green alongside prints and embroideries on the left pocket and back panel. The jacket’s front panel features Vespa’s V monogram accompanied by an ancient Chinese proverb.
The 946 Dragon, which features an 11hp 125cc single cylinder injected engine, is expected here next month when pricing will also be announced.
