We all know Subaru loves a limited edition, so it has decided to drum up yet another just for New Zealand.
For $59,990, a handful of Kiwis will be able to get their hands on the WRX Tatsu, with the latter part of its name translating to “dragon”.
Just ten examples are set to go on sale locally, with half featuring an automatic transmission and the other half a six-speed manual. Both gearboxes are mated to a 2.4-litre turbocharged flat four-cylinder engine making 202kW and 350Nm of torque.
Some of the model’s special appointments include a World Rally Blue paint finish, 18-inch STI alloy wheels finished in black, an STI body kit, STI strut brace, STI gear shifter, STI push button start, STI drilled disc rotors, and unique badging.
“The Subaru rally cars were predominantly and proudly decked out in WR Blue, which is what I believe will make the WRX Tatsu so appealing,” says Wallis Dumper, Managing Director of Subaru of New Zealand.
“Because it is such a limited edition, anyone interested in purchasing one should contact their local Subaru Authorised Centre to secure one now before they are gone.”
The WRX Tatsu follows in the footsteps of previous special editions like the recently released WRX AKA (red) edition, WRX Saigo, and Saigo STI.
