Ford New Zealand says that Kiwis can now order the latest seventh-generation Ford Mustang GT Convertible. Either visit a local Ford dealer to order, or go online. The RRP for the Mustang GT Convertible is $99,990.
The Convertible rounds out the 2024 Mustang family that includes the limited-edition Dark Horse and GT Fastback.
Convertible orders placed today are scheduled to arrive in early 2025, slightly after the Dark Horse and GT Fastback. Ford says the latest generation of Mustang is the most exhilarating and visceral yet, with new naturally aspirated engines, jet fighter-inspired instruments and an edgier but timeless exterior design.
Under the hood is a 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that reconfigures shift patterns depending on selected drive mode. Updates to the engine include an innovative dual air intake box and dual-throttle body design. These help to minimise induction losses by enabling higher air flow rates.
Ford dealers from around New Zealand are also taking orders for the new Mustang hardtop, and the manual Dark Horse allocation has already sold out. A few of the Dark Horse automatics may still be available.
For those wanting a sneak preview, Ford New Zealand has secured an early-build seventh-generation Mustang GT. It will make its New Zealand debut at the 2024 ITM Taupō Super400 during April 19-21. Customers and fans are invited to be the first to see it in the metal.
Next week marks the 60th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang and the company will be hosting celebrations around the globe. To date, over nine million Mustangs have been sold since it first launched in 1964. It is evidently the world’s most-liked vehicle on Facebook.
