Ford will have another electric SUV soon, well in Europe at least, with a sportier version of the Explorer planned and to be named Capri.
Like Explorer it will be based on the Volkswagen MEP platform. It’s being described as a sports crossover and will be revealed shortly.

Don’t get too angsty about Ford slapping the Capri tag on this SUV, remember they used the name on that awful convertible thing in the nineties too. Hopefully the electric SUV will be more successful.
The spy shot shows that it has a coupe-SUV outline but they haven’t sacrificed too much practicality in the name of style; it looks like a bloated hatchback.
It’ll be identical to Explorer underneath with 52 and 77kWh battery packs, a range of up to 600km and charging speeds of 170kW DC.
There have been production delays with the Explorer, which was supposed to be out last year, and this is caused subsequent delays for the sportier Capri.
Like Explorer don’t expect Capri to turn up here anytime soon, it’s currently a Europe only product.
