Indian powerhouse Royal Enfield has not only introduced a pair of new bikes (C6 and S6) but also a new brand, in its Fly Flea electric subsidiary. The company will produce two-wheeled electric mobility solutions mainly for city and surrounds.
The C6 is a city bike while the S6 (for Scrambler) features light off-road ability. Both are fully electric offerings, though the firm has not yet revealed battery size, motor power or, critically, range. Both will go on sale in Q2 of 2026.
In its 123 years of existence Royal Enfield has never produced an EV but that’s about to change. The new Flying Flea brand takes inspiration from the original Royal Enfield Flying Flea motorcycle of the 1940s. It was purpose-built for use during WWII, the lightweight machine airdropped via parachute to provide easy-to-use all-terrain mobility. The bikes later found use in day-to-day urban transport. Now lightness, agility and adaptability ride again with the Flying Flea brand and its range of electric vehicles.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Eicher Motors Ltd, said: “Today, as we get ready to script a new chapter for Royal Enfield…this is a significant step in our evolution as a brand and an opportunity for us to distill the essence of Royal Enfield DNA combined with all the great benefits of EV technology and bring something absolutely delightful and differentiated to the world of city-plus mobility.”
B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield added: “It is an especially exciting moment for us, as we present the new Flying Flea brand at EICMA. This represents a completely new chapter for Royal Enfield, inspired by our legacy, driven by our vision for the future. Flying Flea combines distinctive style, city-focussed practicality, and cutting-edge technology. This is the start of a fresh, sustainable ride for us, and offers the world an elegant, effective and sustainable everyday transportation.”
“We have also initiated the development of an EV manufacturing plant in Chennai, India. And we have invested in Barcelona-based Stark Future known for its advanced off-road electric motorcycles. All aspects of our connected electric motorcycles, including product strategy and development, technical components like motor, battery, BMS, custom software, and our retail and market strategy have been developed in-house by our dedicated technical and commercial teams.”
Girder Fork Reinvented
The first model under Flying Flea to hit the road next year will be the FF-C6. It features a contemporary reimagining of the original Flying Flea front suspension, a forged aluminium Girder fork and articulating mudguard. This fork style was synonymous with pre-1930s motorcycles. In the C6 it is a ground-up redesign.
The forged aluminium frame provides a lightweight yet strong structure with a timeless silhouette, while the magnesium battery case aims for optimal weight saving and cooling. The design theme of the battery fins represents the Flying Flea’s ethos, fusing tradition and technology. A true round touchscreen cluster fuses classic lines with high-tech functionality.
Bespoke software constantly monitors and optimises the riding experience, improving range via a Vehicle Control Unit. The VCU enables over 200,000 different ride mode combinations, acts as security when the bike is left unattended, and permits over-the-air updates. Ride modes mean the user can adjust the bike for economy, comfort or sport through changes to throttle, brake and regen feel. The phone as a key technology allows you to jump aboard and ride off.
Being electric, it has twist and go acceleration. The F6 also features lean angle sensing ABS, and cruise control. Easy and fast charging is available via a domestic three-pin plug, though there’s no information on plug-in time. Range is optimised for city use. Lightweight easy handling makes this accessible regardless of riding ability.
