Volkswagen celebrates the rebirth of the iconic Kombi with the introduction of the fully electric ID.Buzz. It is Volkswagen’s first battery electric van, and will be available locally in early 2025.
Kevin Richards, GM of Volkswagen New Zealand Commercial Vehicles said “The all-new ID.Buzz embodies the spirit of adventure that has defined Volkswagen vehicles for decades. The Kombi became one of our greatest stories, filled with fond memories that Kiwis hold close to their hearts. Fully reimagined, the ID.Buzz is an electric vehicle for future generations, and will continue to shape our legacy.”
Blending innovation, technology, and fresh styling with a hint of nostalgia, the ID.Buzz offers a five-, six- or seven-seat solution for families, friends and adventures.
There’s also a commercial version coming. Ready to reignite the lightweight load-hauling sector, the ID.Buzz Cargo is designed to make sustainable mobility practical. Businesses will like the fact that this image maker has a 650kg payload and enough space to accommodate two Euro pallets.
Both models are already award winners, with the ID.Buzz Cargo taking out the “International Van of the Year 2023” (IVOTY) before its market launch. ID.Buzz won Best Car of the Year UK, and the What Car? top vehicle for 2023.
Volkswagen New Zealand anticipates a similar reception locally with customers already registering their interest.
In addition to Volkswagen’s commitment to its legacy, both ID.Buzz models reinforce Volkswagen’s dedication to sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation. ID.Buzz features electric carbon-friendly performance and recycled materials.
IQ.Light LED matrix headlights give you a friendly eye blink on arrival. And the largest sunroof ever to make its way into a Volkswagen is another highlight of the new EV.
ID.Buzz, reborn for the electric age, is ready to bring a sense of freedom and adventure back to New Zealand roads.
