This is the first year that all tournament vehicles are electrified. They will provide players, match officials and VIPs with transport around Melbourne during the event which runs until January 26.
Ho Sung Song, Kia President and CEO said “By showcasing our EV and hybrid models, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable mobility while supporting one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events.”
The company is showcasing its full all-electric line-up (EV3, EV5, EV6 and EV9) throughout the tournament while offering fans the opportunity to engage with EV technology at sites across Melbourne Park.
As part of AO25, Kia is introducing its latest brand campaign, ‘What’s Your Next Move?’. It features the Kia EV3 globally and the EV5 locally, to engage tennis fans during the Australian Open. There will also be screenings of the documentary film ‘Rafa’s Next Move’, outlining Nadal’s story at the Australian Open and his day-to-day interests outside of tennis.
Kia is also teaming up with Tennis Australia to produce a four-episode digital series entitled ‘What Moves You?’ This series explores the backstories of current tennis players, with interviews conducted inside the Kia EV5 and EV9. They delve into player inspiration and at the same time promote Kia’s EVs as symbols of innovation and movement.
Kia Australia will also create special tennis experiences for customers who have test driven or bought Kia EVs. Furthermore, 20 Korean children have been selected as official Ballkids for AO25.
These children will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience, being on court with the world’s best players, engaging in tennis activities, and exploring Melbourne’s best attractions.
