Ben Montgomery is the new GM of Motorcorp Distributors Ltd

Ben Montgomery is the new General Manager of Motorcorp Distributors Ltd. He will oversee a team of 40 staff and will take responsibility for eight JLR retailers across New Zealand.

Mr Kenchington moves into his new role as Giltrap Group CEO on 3 February, 2025.

ontgomery has held significant leadership roles within the local automotive industry over 21 years. He has worked at Volkswagen NZ, in JLR Operations, and as the GM of Volvo New Zealand.

With a record of driving growth and fostering a customer-first culture, Montgomery will set Motorcorp Distributors in good stead.

Commenting on his new position Montgomery said “2025 brings a wealth of opportunity for JLR in New Zealand.

“A significant part of my career to date has been with these iconic British brands both here and overseas. I’m joining at a particularly exciting time as we continue to strengthen Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar.

“I’m particularly looking forward to getting on the road and meeting with our wider JLR team and customers. 

“Key to my success is our long term partnership with the retailer network. This includes sales and service centres in Auckland & North Shore, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.”

Outgoing Motorcorp CEO Steve Kenchington reflected, “Having worked closely with Ben over the years, I do not doubt that his skills, dedication and hunger for innovation will continue to propel our business forward.

Kenchington will continue as CEO of Motorcorp Distributors until he commences his new role.
