Trade Me Motors’ most viewed listings of 2024 have been revealed, with a DeLorean topping the chart. Others included your usual multi-million dollar Supercars, a couple of old Holdens and a Ford and even a Mazda6!
The Mazda6 seems an odd inclusion, but perhaps it was because the listing spelt the model name incorrectly, the ad noting it to be a Tamaki rather than Takami. Perhaps people thought it was a special Brian Tamaki edition, allowing them to stop traffic and access the motorway whenever they pleased.

But anyway, the top listing was a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12. According to Trade Me Motors: “This late addition, listed in December 2024, caught the eyes of Kiwi movie buffs as the iconic ride from Back to the Future.” It amassed the highest number of views in 2024 (97,676 and counting).
Supercars were next on the list with a 2022 McLaren Elva notching up 67,501 views. It is one of 149 units produced worldwide and was listed at $2,800,000, making it the highest-priced vehicle in the top ten.
Another limited run supercar came in third with the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GT Black Series receiving over 65,376 views. With an ask of $1,249,990, it was the second most expensive car on the list.
In fourth place was former Prime Minister Helen Clark’s ministerial 2005 Ford LTD V8. Complete with NZ flags, it was listed on behalf of the New Zealand government and attracted 46,525 views and a final bid of $35,200.
The fifth place listing was a boat, a White Pointer 840 Prop Sportsman Diesel 350HP (40,961 views) followed by Brian’s special Mazda6 Tamaki (36,254 views) while seventh was a 2023 Mercedes-Benz S 63 Maybach S680 listed for $399,990 amassing 33,906 views.
