GWM plans to introduce seven new models in 2025, including the recently driven Cannon and Haval H6 GT PHEV.

Amongst the newcomers is a diesel variant of the Tank 300, due soon. Meantime, pricing for this variant is now listed on the GWM website.
It will be available as a single Ultra-spec variant, running the firm’s 2.4L turbodiesel. This powerplant is the same as that firing the new Cannon double-cab ute. Processing the power – 135kW and 480Nm in total – is a nine-speed automatic transmission. A combined fuel use figure of 7.8L/100km is the claim (9L/100km rightcar).
Braked towing capacity is rated at 3000kg.

It is listed on the local GWM website as costing $57,990. There are five colour options, including the striking dusk orange. Others may prefer fossil grey, lunar red or traditional black and white variations. The 4×4 comes with chrome coloured alloy wheels.
This means there are now three Tank 300 powertrains available. Kicking things off is the 162kW/380Nm 2.0L turbopetrol with an RRP of $49,990. However, it’s on offer at $46,990 until the end of March.
Also available at a reduced price is the Ultra, usually $54,990 but reduced to $52,990 until Mar 31. They both run on 91ULP and fuel use is rated at a combined figure of 9.5L/100km (10.6 rightcar).
The hybrids use a 255kW/648Nm petrol-electric powertrain. For more, see the 2024 review of the Lux variant.
