The GLC SUV line-up is one of the biggest sellers for Mercedes in New Zealand. Now there’s an additional entry-level AWD variant in the form of the GLC 200 4MATIC SUV. It is on sale now, with a launch price of $99,900 until the end of April.

The new variant also comes with almost as many standard features as its bigger GLC 300 4MATIC SUV sib.
Exclusive to the GLC 200 4MATIC SUV are a silver grey diamond-pattern trim on the interior’s dash. There are also polished grey 19-inch, 10-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. Other exterior features include aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, and LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist. Figure also on a panoramic sliding sunroof with heat-insulating dark-tinted glass, and aluminium roof rails for the weekend adventures.
Its standard parking package includes a 360-degree camera with Active Parking Assist. A Transparent Bonnet feature helps the driver to visualise the terrain ahead. An auto-dimming rear view mirror, electrically folding exterior mirrors and ambient lighting are part of the standard mirror package.
Modern luxury interior
The interior is elevated by the silver-grey high-gloss black on the centre console, complemented by ambient lighting and illuminated door sill panels. Comfort seats in artificial leather provide four-way lumbar support for occupants up front.

The driver gets a multifunction sports steering wheel, smartphone integration, and wireless charging system. There’s also dual-zone climate control for those up front.
At the rear is luggage capacity of 620 litres, while safety items run to nine airbags, active cruise and lane keeping, BSM, traffic sign assist, TPM and an emergency spare wheel.
Electrified engine
Powering the GLC 200 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, supported by a 17kW/205Nm 48-volt Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), for added oomph at low RPMs. It also enables gliding, boost, and recuperation, contributing to a combined fuel use figure of 7.5L/100km (NEDC). Engine restarts are quicker and quieter as well.

With 150kW and 320Nm of torque, the GLC 200 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 7.8sec.
Optional features and packages
A range of personalisation options are available including metallic paint ($1100). Upholstery options include Black, Sienna Brown, Black and Macchiato Beige/Black Artico artificial leather. Neva Grey and Black are part of the $6000 Sport Package. The latter includes Digital Light, heat and noise insulating glass, 20-inch AMG alloys, MBUX augmented reality for navigation, and an alarm system. There’s also stop and go functionality for ACC, and a Burmester® 3D surround sound system, amongst other items.

The $1200 Night Package adds exterior design elements in black including 20” AMG polished black wheels.
Special paint finishes go from $2700.
