Peugeot 5008 GT Hybrid on sale as single high-spec model

Peugeot New Zealand has launched its new 5008 GT Hybrid, a 4.64m seven-seat SUV suited to the Kiwi family lifestyle. 

The latest 5008 blends French flair with hybrid technology and a family-friendly interior layout.

Powering the 5008 GT is a hybrid powertrain, pairing a 1.2-litre turbocharged IL3 petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Combined output is rated at 110kW and 230Nm of torque. Power reaches the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The hybrid toggles between petrol and electric propulsion based on driving conditions. Mean fuel efficiency is a claimed 5.1L/100km (NEDC, 5.7 rightcar) with carbon emissions of 129g/km.

Underpinning the 5008 GT is Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, blending performance, space, and safety. Daily family duties and longer weekend adventures are handled equally easily.

Roomy seven-seater

Inside, the 5008 GT Hybrid features a modular seven-seat configuration. The second-row seats slide and recline, while the third row folds flat into the floor. Boot space is 348L with all seats in use, expanding to 2232L with the second and third rows folded away. Braked towing capacity is 1300kg.

The driver looks out on the new Panoramic i-Cockpit, featuring a 21-inch curved HD display. Instruments and the central infotainment screen are all in one. Included are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also tri-zone climate control, and 10 customisable i-Toggles for key functions.

Replete spec

Standard fit includes 19” diamond-cut alloys, Matrix LED headlights, and Peugeot’s signature three-claw rear lighting. The GT trim adds a leather multifunction steering wheel and soft-touch materials. Nappa leather upholstery with massaging is a $5900 option, and includes heated front seats and rear heated seats in the second row. There’s also a $2900 Panoramic Sunroof as a further cost option.

On the safety front are adaptive cruise with stop and go, lane keeping, BSM, AEB with day/night pedestrian and cyclist detection, and a surround camera system with RCTA.

The Peugeot 5008 GT Hybrid has gone on sale, priced from $67,990 + ORC. ($5,990) and Panoramic Sunroof ($2,990). All Peugeots are covered by a five-year/100,000km warranty and roadside assistance package.
