A limited number of high-performance Audi S8 luxury sedans are making their way to our shores, complete with 420kW of V8 power.
The S8 introduces a variety of design enhancements over the standard A8 including a wider front grille decorated with chrome “angles”, a quad-pipe exhaust, and signature S-line silver mirrors.
What gives the S8 its high-performance status is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 making 420kW and 800Nm.
Paired with mild hybrid technology (MHEV) as standard, the S8 can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds.
A highlight of the 4.0-litre TFSI engine is its cylinder on demand (COD) capability which temporarily deactivates four cylinders when cruising.
An eight speed tiptronic adjoins the V8 along with Audi’s famed Quattro all-wheel-drive system which is supported by a sport differential, dynamic all-wheel steering and active suspension.
Safety and security is taken care of by ABS braking, electronic differential lock, traction control, and electronic stabilisation control.
