GWM recently announced it is setting up a ‘local’ tuning and engineering programme for its vehicles. By local it means Australian, and the brand has announced that “experienced engineer and prominent ride & handling expert”, Rob Trubiani will join the company as Product Engineering Manager.
Rob Trubiani might not be a household name, but he was responsible for tuning Holdens back in the day and has “nearly 25 years of Australian automotive engineering experience”.

GWM says; “As Holden’s lead engineer for vehicle dynamics for nearly 15 years, Mr Trubiani has developed a deep understanding of road conditions across the ANZ region and of the vehicle characteristics preferred by customers across the region. As a result, Mr Trubiani has achieved the status of being one of Australia’s most respected vehicle dynamics engineers.”
