The Pininfarina Battista is extreme and to match its out-there styling and performance, the hypercar creator developed a series of ‘one-off’ Batman-themed bespoke models. They surfaced some months ago and now they are turning up at Monterey Car Week 2024. One (pictured here) is known as the Pininfarina Battista B95 Gotham, created for a Batman-obsessed client.
The B95 Gotham is based on the B95 Barchetta version of the Battista that showed up at last year’s Monterey Car Week. It is one of four Batman-themed cars from the Italian styling house. The four bespoke cars include the B95 Gotham, the Battista Gotham, the B95 Dark Knight and the Battista Dark Knight. Each car stands for “the two distinct and complex sides of Bruce Wayne’s character”, according to Pininfarina. All four cars will go on show at Monterey Car Week.
Only 10 examples of the B95 Gotham will be built. It comes in Argento Vittorio gloss paint, with gloss black mirror caps, exterior detailing in black and rear domes in tan leather embossed with the ‘Wayne Enterprises’ logo. If you have to ask, then you’re clearly not a Batman fan.
The wheels are a special design finished, naturally, in black, matt for the inner rings, gloss black for the outer rings.
The interior features more tan leather while the B95’s screens have a “Wayne Enterprises HMI display”. The assistant’s voice is based on that of Bruce Wayne’s butler, famously once played by Michael Caine.
The B95 Gotham performs like a regular B95; think ballistic. It features a 120kWh battery shaped in a ‘T’ beneath the car. Power goes to four electric motors developing a system total of almost 1400kW and 2340Nm. When the Boy Wonder pushes the ‘turbines to speed’ button, the B95 Gotham can hit 100km/h in under two seconds. Top speed is close to 300km/h, probably best it’s not higher given the two vestigial excuses for windscreens.
