BYD New Zealand has hit a milestone this week, announcing that 500 of its electric Atto 3 SUVs have been registered for our roads.
It isn’t just seeing success locally either with the Chinese brand selling 174,915 EVs across the globe in August alone. Of that, 18,625 sales were of the Atto 3.
BYD New Zealand Brand Manager, Warren Willmot says “Based on the remarkable amount of interest the brand received before we even landed the first shipment, we knew the Atto 3 would be popular with New Zealanders.”
“Demand has completely exceeded our expectations and the speed at which we have reached 500 customer sales is monumental. I’m thrilled with the initial success and looking forward to the continued influence BYD has on the New Zealand NEV market.”
Pricing for the all-electric Atto 3 starts at $52,990 for the standard range and tops out at $57,990 for the extended range, plus on-road costs. Both variants are also eligible for the current full EV clean car rebate of $8625.
BYD also announced that a new colour for the Atto 3 is available in the form of Parkour Red.
