Cadillac has revealed the pricing and specs for its electric Lyriq SUV. According to the American luxury brand, the new Lyriq luxury SUV promises ‘standout design, superior technology, and unparalleled performance’. Excited yet?
So what is the price of the Cadillac Lyriq in NZ?
Cadillac ANZ says the Lyriq, which will be available in Luxury and Sport trims is ‘competitively priced’. That sees the Luxury variant available from $117,000 and the Sport variant available from $119,000. Interestingly, it is the same price on both sides of the Tasman.
The cadillacanz.com website is said to be opening this month to commence accepting customer orders.
Cadillac Experience Centre locations in Sydney and Melbourne are mentioned in the firm’s release, and while one is said to be planned for Auckland, no word on the timing just yet.

What are the specs for the Cadillac Lyriq?
The Lyriq is manufactured with the steering wheel on the right side at the Spring Hill Manufacturing Plant in Tennessee. Both Luxury and Sport models have the same 388kW/610Nm, all-wheel drive electric powertrain featuring a 102kWh battery capable of 530km between charges. The max DC charge rate is 190kW.
The Lyriq features a five-link suspension set-up at the rear with Passive-Plus Premium Dampers, said to deliver ‘a sublime ride and handling experience’.
What is the difference between the Lyriq Luxury and Sport?
The differences are largely cosmetic. Apparently “Luxury is crafted for a sophisticated journey and Sport is designed for expressive power and presence”. Think lots of chrome on the Luxury, while the Sport gets black trim. The latter gets a different grille treatment, unique wheels.
They both feature 21-inch alloys, a curved 33-inch LED display, a 19-speaker audio system and a full glass roof.
The audio system includes front row headrest speakers and the ambient lighting has 126 colours to choose from. The front seats offer a massage function and are ventilated and heated. So too are the two outboard seats in the second row. Tri-zone air con is a feature. Road noise should be minimal with Cadillac’s next-generation Active Noise Cancellation system. A Nappa leather package is optional.
What is the ‘Cadillac Confidence’ program?
Buyers of the Lyric will benefit from ‘Cadillac Confidence’, “a premium wrap-around service” which “provides reassurance and support for all Lyriq owners”.
The Lyriq is covered by a five year/unlimited kilometre factory warranty. Included in the package is five years of roadside assistance and five years scheduled servicing. The battery has an eight year/160,000km warranty. The package is also transferable to the next owner.
