Chanelle McDonald has been appointed the new General Manager of Volkswagen New Zealand for its passenger vehicles within European Motor Distributors (EMD).
Her new role will commence on 1 August 2023 following a nearly three-year tenure at Skoda New Zealand where she currently works as the National Sales and Corporate Manager.
Much of McDonald’s background is in marketing where she previously worked in various Senior Account Manager roles before joining EMD as the Head Of Marketing for Audi New Zealand.
According to Auto Media Group, she is the first female general manager to be appointed by EMD.
She will work alongside Kevin Richards who is the General Manager of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in New Zealand.
The internal promotion follows the news that Greg Leet, current General Manager of Volkswagen New Zealand, will soon take over the role as the head of Audi from Dean Sheed.
