The Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD gets a mild facelift this year, the flagship GMSV pick-up undergoing design updates. Key among the changes are a new-look exterior, with blacked-out bumpers, red recovery hooks, and 20-inch high-gloss black alloys.
The big rig is now offered in six exterior colours, three of them new.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual. That includes the 350kW/1322Nm 6.6-litre Duramax V8 turbodiesel, contributing to its 4.5-tonne braked towing capacity. The 2500 HD also has trailer-equipped Adaptive Cruise Control, GM’s In-Vehicle Trailering App with Trailer Profiles, and large vertical power-adjustable trailering mirrors. These ensure that it is amongst the best in the towing space.
As before, there are leather-clad heated and vented seats up front, both powered, and seat warmers in the rear, a heated wheel, and a powered sunroof.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a seven-speaker Bose Sound System provide the comms and entertainment while screens are 25.7 inches for both the infotainment and instruments.
Pricing for the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD is $178,500.
Beneath that are the 1500 LTZ Premium Tech Pack ($153,000) and the 1500 ZR2 which goes for $156,500. Prestige paint for the LTZ adds $1250.
