Costco members in New Zealand will soon be able to purchase a brand-new car at a discounted price, with the wholesaler recently outlining plans to sell vehicles locally.
The service commenced in Australia in November where shoppers can select from a range of makes and models via Costco Autoconnect, and then choose between picking up their purchase or having it delivered right to their door.
Customers in New Zealand will soon be able to do the same, with a Costco Australia & New Zealand spokesperson confirming to Stuff that the service is coming to our shores.
However, they didn’t say when it would start, meaning Kiwis will have to wait a little longer until they can add a car to their shopping list.
According to WhichCar, discounts across the ditch range from between $AU700 to $AU2750, or between $750 and $2.9k in our money.
However, like its wholesale goods business, customers must hold a Costo membership costing $60 per year to capitalise on the vehicle discounts.
In terms of what’s on offer, the Australian website suggests that brands like Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki, BMW, Volkswagen, and more will be sold locally through the new service.
Costco currently only has one site in New Zealand, located in Westgate, Auckland, which is likely where the new auto business will also set up shop.
