The official reveal date for the fully electric Dodge Charger has been announced, confirming comments made by the brand’s Senior Vice President Matt McAlear earlier this month.
McAlear previously told Automotive News and Motor1 that the new model will be revealed early next month, with the exact date now being confirmed for 11 am on March 5, or 5 am on March 6 for us Kiwis.
As for what we can expect when that day rolls around, the electric Charger is set to become the brand’s first production EV and will replace the old V8-powered Challenger coupé and Charger sedan.
It’ll also introduce a new design language based on the Charger Daytona SRT concept that was revealed in 2022. Teaser shots posted to social media by Dodge this month confirm that the new model will be a two-door and feature a front air pass-through on the bonnet to aid aerodynamics.
As for what’s under the bonnet, Dodge says that customers will be able to select from a range of different power levels on both 400- and 800-volt models, with the highest output coming from the Banshee variant.
