We’ve seen the teasers, now get ready to see the real deal, as a Dodge executive has let slip that the electric Charger will be unveiled in full next month.
The reveal date was announced by the American carmaker’s Senior Vice President Matt McAlear according to a report by Automotive News, as well as being confirmed by Motor1, with both telling us to mark March 5 on our calendars.
There’s a lot of hype around the new model, and that’s because it’s a big change for Dodge as it not only reprises an iconic nameplate but will also become the brand’s first production EV.
In terms of styling, the design of the Charger was teased on social media last month, showing off its Charger Daytona SRT concept-inspired looks. We’re sure you’ve already laid eyes on that puppy but if you haven’t, rest assured it looks like a true blue muscle car.
As for what it can do on the road, Dodge has said that customers will be able to select from a range of different power levels on both the 400- and 800-volt variants, with the highest output coming from the Banshee. There’s no word on technical specs or exact figures just yet though.
What we do know is that the model will feature the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust that debuted on the aforementioned concept in 2022, a device that uses air to emulate the sound of a V8 engine.
There are rumours that Stellantis’ new twin-turbocharged ‘Hurricane’ six-cylinder may find its way into the engine bay but nothing has been made official at this time.
With that being said, the covers are set to come off the electric Dodge Charger on March 5, 2024.
