The fully electric MG4 has been awarded a five-star safety rating following the latest round of testing in Euro NCAP.
An MG New Zealand spokesperson confirmed the all-new MG4 would be available for sale locally “sometime in the second half of 2023” but didn’t provide any further details.
Testing saw the hatchback ensure child and adult occupants were protected in a collision, scoring 83 per cent and 80 per cent respectively.
The MG4’s autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system earned the model 75 per cent in the vulnerable road users category while it scored 78 per cent in the safety assist assessment thanks to its suite of on-board safety equipment.
All models of MG4 are equipped with MG Pilot which includes driver aids like AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, high beam assist, and more.
The five-star safety rating also marks the first practical result involving MG’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) that will underpin other future models in its electric lineup.
