Following a multimillion-dollar refurbishment, the former home of Winger Maserati at 21 Great South Road Newmarket has been transformed into the new Lexus of Auckland City showroom.
The building has 2800 square metres of space on two levels, can house up to 48 vehicles, and has EV charging stations for six cars.
Customers will be supported by 34 Lexus of Auckland City staff members.
The November 1 opening of the new dealership in Newmarket also meant the closure of the former Lexus of Auckland City site on Great North Road.
Unlike the typical dealership, which includes an exterior car yard and sales office, Lexus of Auckland City’s entire operation, excluding the service department, is housed within the new showroom building.
The product displays, offices, and parking facilities are all indoors. Customers can view Lexus models, relax in the customer lounge, and pick up their new vehicles on the first floor.
Lexus of Auckland City chief executive Sharlene Van Dijk says the newly refurbished premises at 21 Great South Road reflect the brand and its promise.
“We had outgrown our former site in Grey Lynn, and our belief in the Lexus brand and its growth potential gave us the confidence to invest in a new customer-focused facility.
“Lexus is about beautiful design and the best in automotive technology. We wanted to reflect those qualities in our new home. My team is deeply committed to delivering on the Lexus brand promise of Experience Amazing. We strive to provide every client with exceptional service, ensuring their journey with Lexus exceeds expectations at every touchpoint,” she says.
Lexus New Zealand vice president Andrew Davis says the new store reflects Lexus’s direction as a marque in New Zealand.
“Over the last 34 years, the brand has become a leader in the luxury automotive market, with a growing range of electrified vehicles that align with the country’s increasing demand for low-carbon transportation options,” Davis says.
As Lexus continues to expand its lineup of luxury electrified vehicles, including models like the all-electric RZ and hybrid LBX, it aims to cater to environmentally conscious consumers without compromising performance, luxury, or design,” he says.
Lexus customers are now encouraged to visit the Newmarket dealership or call to book a vehicle service.
Visitors to the new dealership will be able to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can use a courtesy loan vehicle, an Uber voucher, or a drop-off service.
Davis says the location expands Lexus’s reach and visibility to its target markets in central Auckland.
“The investment in new or refurbished dealerships from our partners highlights the strength of our brand in New Zealand,” he says.
