Porsche has revealed details on the refreshed Porsche Taycan GTS, which is available in both saloon and Sport Turismo forms. It comes with more power and range, along with suspension updates.

GTS is typically one of the more driver-focused variants in Porsche’s model ranges. However, not so much with Taycan where there’s a range-topping Turbo (Turbo S and GT as well) to fill that role.

The GTS then fills a gap between the 4S and Turbo models, and will likely continue to be one of the most popular models in the line-up. There’s also a new Taycan 4 model below all of these.

The GTS has the same 105kWh battery pack and twin-motor layout as a 4S. However, it can produce up to 515kW on overboost with launch control active. That’s around 75kW more than the previous GTS. Extra power comes mainly from a new rear motor that adds an extra 80kW and 41Nm, yet weighs 10kg less.

Performance is brisk, with a 0-100km/h claim of 3.3 seconds, an improvement of 0.4sec. It evidently gets to 200km/h in just over 10sec, down by more than 1.5sec. It is half a second quicker to the open road limit than the 4S.

Range increases too by almost 100km, now up to 624km on the combined WLTP cycle. It’s not just due to the bigger battery but takes into account efficiency improvements to the motors and the car’s software. The front motor can now de-couple in most driving situations.

Arguably the major update is in the underpinnings for the GTS now comes with dual-chamber air suspension and dual-valve dampers as standard. Suspension set-up has a sporty edge compared with lesser Taycans.

Active Ride Control is an option, with a special tune that’s specific to the GTS. This system, that uses motor units on the active dampers, dispenses with antiroll bars and ensures a level ride, fore and aft, side to side. Porsche Torque Vectoring is standard fit too, while rear-wheel steering is an option.

Pick the GTS by its Sport Design Package in gloss black and Anthracite Grey 20-inch aero wheels. Optional 21-inch wheels are also available in the same finish. A GTS Interior Package includes 18-way adjustable electric seats finished in Race-Tex fabric and black leather elements with contrasting red or silver stitching. The multifunction steering wheel from the Taycan Turbo GT is available as a cost option.
