Heartland Group Holdings is today mourning the loss of a founding director of the company’s board, Geoffrey Ricketts, after he died from a sudden illness.
Ricketts was appointed Chair in August 2013 and stood down on 20 February 2023 while remaining as a Director.
He oversaw Heartland evolve into what it is today, a now trans-Tasman, dual-listed financial services provider that serves over 130,000 customers, with a market cap in excess of $1 billion.
Ricketts’ achievements include being named the Deloitte/New Zealand Management Magazine Chairperson of the Year in 2008 while he also received the insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Education, the Arts and Business in 2013.
In 2022, he was named a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Ricketts also chaired the Heartland Trust, Heartland’s registered charitable trust.
