A new high-spec Mercedes-Benz C-Class has landed in New Zealand, dubbed the ‘Night Edition’.
This limited edition model adds specification for the C 200 model. This includes the addition of the Night Package featuring design elements in high-gloss black including the radiator louvre, the AMG-style front and rear aprons, the beltline trim strip and window surround, and the exterior mirror housings. It rolls on 19-inch AMG alloys.
The ears will like the upgrade to the premium Burmester 3D surround sound system inside, and you’ll be able to hear it more clearly with the addition of acoustic glass for the windscreen and front side windows.
Usual C 200 fare includes wood trim and an 11.9-inch centre screen for the MBUX multimedia. This offers smartphone integration for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and wireless charging.
There’s also the 12.3-inch LCD instruments and head-up display, the front seats are heated and electrically adjustable with memory function. While you don’t get real leather in the C 200, the Artico upholstery ain’t bad and there’s dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and DAB+ digital radio. Along with tints, there is a panoramic sliding sunroof.
Safety is covered with 10 airbags and a raft of driver ‘assists’ including active distance assist cruise control, active parking assist, active lane keeping assist, blind spot assist and traffic sign assist. Almost forgot the adaptive highbeam assist. There’s a 360° camera too.
The C 200 uses the turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol making 150kW of power and 300Nm of torque. It is helped out by a 15kW/200Nm Integrated Starter Generator incorporating a 48-volt on-board electrical system. It drives the rears via a nine-speed auto.
The Mercedes-Benz C 200 Night Edition is yours for $98,700, which includes all on roads. And as M-B now operates the agency system, that price is non-negotiable.
