Ahead of its reveal later this month, Honda has provided us with a glimpse of the next-generation Civic Type R hot hatch.
Today marks the Honda Civic’s 50th birthday which originally went on sale on July 12, 1972. The model has since sold around 27 million units worldwide.
To mark the occasion, Honda has provided us with a sneak-peak of the new Type R model.
Imagery shows the car with a refreshed face, taking on the eleventh generation Civic’s much more tame design language than the former.
A teaser video also illustrates the car’s performance as it gets thrashed around well-known race tracks like Suzuka Circuit in Japan and the Nürburgring in Germany.
The Type R brand is also celebrating a milestone this year with its 30th anniversary in November.
All will be revealed at 2PM NZDT on July 21, 2022 with a premiere taking place on Honda’s YouTube channel.
