- Hyundai NZ says its new fifth gen Santa Fe has (finally) arrived in dealerships nationwide. We reviewed the top-of-the-tree Calligraphy model recently and rather liked it.
Pricing for the new model starts at $74,990 for the Active, the Limited is $86,990 and the Calligraphy is $94,990. All these sticker prices are so-called introductory offers with $10k nipped off the RRPs. No word on how long the offer lasts however. Until further notice we guess.

All Santa Fe variants are hybrid powered, no diesels this time around. But don’t be scared off, the family friendly seven seater is better off for it. Unless you have something heavier than 2000kg to tow that is. As Hyundai puts it; “A turbocharged hybrid powertrain is paired to an HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive drivetrain offering exceptional fuel economy and performance whilst being exempt from Road User Charges”.
Anyway, Hyundai will tell you its new big SUV features ‘a range of family-first technology innovations, advanced safety equipment and user-friendly convenience features’ making it ‘better than ever before’.
Some of these features include the dual 12.3-inch panoramic screens and an advanced suite of SmartSense safety technology.
Hyundai New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Scott Kelsey, is excited for Hyundai customers to experience the latest Santa Fe. He says “The reception that the new Santa Fe has recieved globally has been incredible. We are excited for New Zealanders to try out this bold new model”.
