Representing the entry point to Indian, the Scout Sixty Bobber arrives here early next year, costing $2500 less than the base Scout Bobber.
Aaron Jax, Vice President for Indian Motorcycle said “The new Scout Sixty Bobber builds upon our iconic Scout platform and offers a more accessible line-up for riders of all skill levels.”
The Indian Scout is the firm’s most successful platform. With the introduction of the SpeedPlus engine, the foundations were laid to reintroduce the Scout Sixty Bobber to international line-ups.
Drawn to its design, over 90 per cent of Scout buyers are new to the brand. And with lightweight, nimble handling and a low seat height, many Indian Scout buyers are evidently new to riding. The new Scout Sixty Bobber expands that reach by offering the same Scout traits at a more affordable price point.
Scout Sixty rides on a new tubular steel platform with improved low-speed manoeuvrability. Standard across the line-up are mid-level controls. Thus, the riders’ feet are planted directly below their legs for easier riding and better control. It weighs in at 243kg wet and seat height is 649mm.
With a black headlight enclosure, the Scout Sixty Bobber reinforces a minimalist bobber aesthetic. It features a solo bobber-style seat, short travel rear suspension (51mm), and 16-inch five-spoke wheels. Up front is a single 298mm disc acted upon by a two-piston caliper.
Powering the Indian Scout Sixty Bobber is a redesigned Euro5 compliant SpeedPlus 999cc V-twin developing 87Nm of torque at 6200rpm, and 63kW of power. With a five-speed transmission, it offers an approachable powertrain for riders of all levels.
New Zealand bikes come with plenty of kit, including ABS, LED lighting, and a new fuel level gauge and hand controls. There’s also cruise control, TC, Ride Modes and a USB charging port. An analogue gauge and keyed ignition are also standard.
Over 100 factory accessories are available for personalisation. Scout Sixty Bobber offers 32 different ergonomic configurations with different bars and seats. There’s also an optional touchscreen display offering GPS navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
Other accessories include a quick-release windshield, a two-up seat covered in waterproof leather-like vinyl, and touring or bobber saddlebags.
Scout Sixty Bobber will be available from January 2025, kicking off from $21,995. It comes with a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
