After a production hold-up caused by a supplier going to the wall, Ineos says it will make a clean start to 2025 making Grenadiers and Quartermasters once again.
Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, said “It’s great news that a solution has been found so quickly.
“Automotive supply chains are extremely complex but we were not willing to compromise on quality, so we are satisfied that we have found the best possible outcome.
“By this summer we had sold as many Grenadiers as we had for the whole of 2023, and are on track to have over 20,000 Grenadiers on the road before the end of this year.
“With substantial expansion in the US, I believe 2025 is going to be our best year yet.
“I’d like to give a huge thanks to our customers for their patience. We are happy to get back on track and look forward to handing them the keys to their Grenadiers asap.”
Ineos is now selling in 50 countries, having added major Mexico and China to the list.
Production ground to a halt in September 2024 due to a critical component shortage. The item that caused the problem was not named but in September it was claimed to be a trim item. And possibly a fairly important one given a division of seat supplier Recaro filed for administration around that time.
All partners involved have been informed and are ready to support resumption of operations at the Ineos plant in Hambach, in Northern France.
The all-electric Fusilier will eventually join the range, although this has been pushed back for the time being.
According to Jato Dynamics, Ineos sold 847 Grenadiers across Europe and the UK between January and the end of August this year, down one-third on the same period a year earlier.
