A recent tweet from Ford CEO Jim Farley has indicated that the company may be cooking up a road-legal version of its Mustang GT3 race car.
Following the first glimpse of the American carmaker’s new racer, Farley asked his followers the question, “Should we make a road version?”.
If it were up to us, the answer to that would most definitely be yes but according to Ford itself, the only plans it has to actually create the car are based on its boss’ tweet alone, reports Motor1.
Regardless, the Mustang GT3 isn’t too distant from the seventh-generation road car anyway considering its based on the Dark Horse variant.
Its not like race car gone road car hasn’t been done before either as many carmakers have done the same including Ford with the Le Mans-winning GT.
For now at least, we can enjoy the sights and sounds of the track car being thrashed around Sebring Raceway with its 5.0-litre Coyote V8 screaming under the bonnet.
