There will be two new John Cooper Works Minis to choose from in 2025, and they promise ‘electrifying’ performance. Well, they are electric at least, so performance without tail pipe emissions. Mini NZ will offer both the three-door Mini and the new Aceman in JCW trim.
The two models feature ‘bespoke details befitting of the JCW badge but which are also honed for electric driving performance, including an aerodynamically enhanced design’.
Just how fast are the all electric JCW Minis?
Both models have 190kW and 350Nm at their disposal, with drive sent to the front wheels. According to Mini, the three-door hits 100 in 5.9-seconds, while the bigger, heavier Aceman needs 6.4 seconds.
Unique to the battery powered JCWs is an electric boost function for “impressive strong power delivery”. Flap the boost paddle on the steering wheel and this gives you an additional 20kW of go which “provides unique high-acceleration driving enjoyment”.
As to the WLTP range figures, the smaller car goes for 371km while the Aceman does 355km. Both use the same 54.2kWh (gross) battery pack.

JCW styling too
These hi-po models get the usual JCW suspension settings, better rubber and enhanced brakes. They also receive Works inspired styling and aerodynamically optimised wheel designs.
Inside there is a “purist design” with JCW-specific colour scheme. The JCW driver and front passenger seats are upholstered in black vegan leather with multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders and red accent stitching.
There is an OLED display with a diameter of 240mm and the Experience Modes “allow the ambience in the interior to be customised to individual preferences and tastes”.
What is the price of the electric JCW?
The models arrive in Q1 next year priced at $72,990 for the three-door and $75,990 for the JCW Aceman. For the low down on all the specifications, click here.
