The New Zealand Automobile Association (AA) has announced it will appoint Jonathan Sergel as its Chief Mobility Officer, a newly created role within the organisation.
Sergel previously acted as the AA’s General Manager of Motoring Services after initially joining the company in 2019.
In his new role, Sergel will oversee the increasing use of AA’s driving and mobility services while building them into more sustainable options.
The position will also see him help AA members find sustainable solutions for their journeys which also involves public transport.
Helping members make decisions on their next vehicle with regard to new vehicle technology such as hybrids and EVs will also be a part of Sergel’s job.
However, he reassured that the AA’s main focus will be helping its members get back on the road in the event of a breakdown or other event through the use of its roadside assistance resources.
Sergel’s new role will be supported by Roger Venn, General Manager for AA’s Driving School, as well as Bashir Khan, General Manager of Roadside Solutions, and Kyle Lincoln, General Manager for Motoring Services.
