Kia has reaffirmed its commitment to the Super Rugby Pacific franchise, announcing a contract extension for two more seasons.
Next year marks the 10th for Kia’s involvement with the Hurricanes, said Kia NZ’s MD, Todd McDonald (pictured below right with Hurricanes CEO, Avan Lee).
“It was an innovative sponsorship when launched as Kia was the first standalone away jersey sponsor amongst all Super Rugby franchises.
“Agility, power, speed and precision are all attributes associated with the Hurricanes and are similarly found in models in the Kia range. Both organisations also share a future vision of sustainability and innovation, so there are many strong synergies both on and off the field.
“We wish the team all the best for what promises to be a huge season full of fast-paced action.”
Hurricanes CEO, Avan Lee, said the longstanding partnership is also testament to shared values relating to community support and engagement through rugby.
“The Hurricanes are a winning team full of champions and it’s exciting to represent a champion brand like Kia and have them in such a prominent position on the front of our away strip.
“Kia has been backing Black and Yellow since 2016 and we’re grateful for their ongoing support as a Major Partner.”
The Hurricanes Super Rugby Pacific season kicks off in Christchurch on February 14.
