Kia has today teased its upcoming flagship SUV, the EV9, in a series of video clips which give us a glimpse of the model’s exterior design.
The first video released by the Korean carmaker shows the fully electric model’s front lighting arrangement which features a pixelated pattern while the rear lights create a unique Y shape.
The second video shows the EV9’s silhouette and various exterior elements like its flush door handles, boxy lines, and badging.
Kia describes the fully electric SUV’s linework as “confident and assertive” which should match its claim to “revolutionise the large electric SUV segment”.
The Kia EV9 will be built on the company’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as found under the EV6 and shared by Hyundai.
A full reveal of the SUV’s exterior design is expected mid-March, with the model’s technical specifications set to be revealed as well.
Late last year, the model underwent a series of grueling off-road tests like climbing hills, navigating rough terrain and wading through deep-water to ensure reliability.
