Brendon Leitch is the sole driver to wave the flag for Kiwis in motorsport overseas this weekend as he takes to the track twice in Abu Dhabi.
Things will start picking up again next week but in the mean time we’ve got two enduros to enjoy to ensure we all get our motorsport fix.
Brendon Leitch – Asian Le Mans Series, 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi
- Where: Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE
- NZ Times:
- Qualifying: Saturday 7.35pm
- Race 1: Saturday 11.30pm
- Race 2: Monday 12.30am
- How to watch: Live stream (motorsport.tv)
Saturday brings about a sole qualifying session which sets the grid for both races, each of which are 4 hours in length. The event concludes the Asian Le Mans Series which began at Dubai just last week.
Leitch and co battled hard both races after a tricky qualifying session last time out, managing to score a sole point with tenth in class in Race 1 and missing out with 12th in Race 2.
Whilst championship success may be off the table because of this, the Kiwi and his team definitely capable of pulling off big results as they’ve proved in past.
