Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its racing division, Squadra Corse, and bids farewell to the Huracan with a special edition variant called the STO SC 10° Anniversario.
The car was fittingly unveiled at the 2023 Lamborghini World Finals at Vallelunga, an event that brings together competitors from around the world who compete in the one-make Super Trofeo series, including New Zealand’s very own Brendon Leitch who just won the European title.
It’s also the first road-legal vehicle that the engineers at Lamborghini’s racing division have created a “performance kit” (body kit) for, and just by going off that statement alone, you know it’s a pretty special car.
Continuing the racing theme, the special edition Huracan is finished in a livery inspired by the SC63 Hypercar that is set tot take part in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) next year, which combines Verde Mantis green and Nero Noctis black into a two-tone paint scheme. It also features a tricolour band that runs over the car’s roof.
You’ll also find a “Squadra Corse 10° Anniversario” sticker on each door, a Squadra Corse logo on the rear fin that stretches from the roof towards the gargantuan rear wing, in addition to the car being fitted with a full carbon fibre package with red highlights.
The interior has been trimmed specifically for the track, with the sports seats being clad in black Alcantara with green stitching, while occupants are secured with four-point seatbelts. There’s also an aluminium roll bar, a carbon fibre floor and an exclusive plaque that denotes this Huracan’s specialness.
A set of racing-derived shock absorbers sit underneath the STO SC 10° Anniversario, each with adjustable rebound/compression. It’ll also come with a set of newly developed tyres which Lamborghini has drummed up with Bridgestone.
Under the bonnet sits the 5.2-litre V10 found in the regular STO, pumping out 470kW and 565Nm of torque. That equates to a 0 to 100km/h sprint time of three seconds and a top speed of 310km/h. Those behind the wheel of the anniversary model will be able to hear it sing a little louder than the standard car thanks to an Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
“The Huracán STO SC 10° Anniversario is not only a tribute to our racing division Squadra Corse, but a concrete demonstration of how experience gained in motorsport can be effectively transferred to the road product, enhancing performance and driving pleasure,” says Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini.
