Lamborghini is set to reveal a new fully electric concept car at Monterey Car Week when the event gets underway later this week.
The Italian carmaker took to social media with an image showing the car’s angular silhouette, which will inform the looks of an upcoming production model.
What we see is a departure from the usual two-door supercar formula we’re all no doubt used to by now, with the company instead opting for what looks to be a four-door sedan or 2+2 design.
We suspect Lamborghini is looking to take a slice of the electric sedan pie that its sister companies Audi and Porsche are currently chowing down on with their respective E-Tron GT and Taycan models.
That said, the new bull could be based on the same Volkswagen Group MSB platform as its rival siblings. If so, the electric Lamborghini could boast a maximum power figure in the region of 560kW and a torque rating of 1050Nm, as the Taycan Turbo S manages.
Little else is known about the new model but the least we can expect is something “new and truly thrilling” when the concept is unveiled on August 18.
A production version is expected to go on sale globally in 2028.
