New Zealand pricing for the 2022 Range Rover has been announced, with the base model starting at $209,900.
Land Rover revealed the seven-seater SUV last year, emphasising luxury and a premium driving experience. A range of plug-in hybrid options is also available as the brand moves towards a fully electric future. The first EV Range Rover is pencilled in for 2024.
The plug-in hybrids use a 38.2kWh battery and a 105kW electric motor. Range is a surprisingly high 113km when run on full electric power.
ICE options include a 3.0-litre inline-six hybrid, 3.0-litre turbodiesel and a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8.
Within hours of the car’s unveiling, Land Rover New Zealand says they had 60 orders of the new model – a record for the local arm.
First shipments will arrive in mid-2022. Land Rover is working to secure a larger allocation to meet its anticipated demand.
Beyond the base D300 SE SWB model, prices range as high as the top-tier P530 SV LWB at $384,900.
The cheapest hybrid option is the P520e HSE SWB, priced at $269,900. The uprated P510e SV SWB hybrid is a more costly $359,900.
The most affordable long-wheelbase Range Rover is the D350 HSE LWB at $249,900.
Together, twelve different Range Rover models are heading to New Zealand.
“The new Range Rover is undoubtedly the most desirable luxury SUV on the market,” Land Rover New Zealand CEO Steve Kenchington said. “It writes the next chapter for this incredibly unique brand known for its pioneering excellence.”
